355 - Performance Poetry

The requirements are consistent attendance and promptness (this is mandatory), active participation and a final collection of poems and/or public performance, due on the last day of class. No late collections or delayed presentations will be accepted and no incompletes are offered for this class.

We will look at what makes certain forms of poetry effective in performance, what draws us in as readers and listeners/writers.

Please note some of the work and presentations we will consider will be of a more adult nature. The class may include additional assignments if the professor deems it to be helpful to course development.
